Green Bay Packers: Former quarterback Aaron Rodgers has never shied away from sharing his opinion about polarizing topics in this country. Of course, with the 2024 Presidential election coming up there will be numerous famous people giving their opinions.
Rodgers was no different after the first debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
Former Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers Make His Feelings Known After First Debate

Politics is one of Rodgers’ favorite things to talk about, including this year’s presidential candidates Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Biden is the Democratic incumbent, while Trump, the Republican nominee, was President from Jan. 20, 2017-Jan. 20, 2021.
Rodgers is clearly not a fan of Biden, which he made clear during an appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast earlier this year. The four-time NFL MVP referred to Biden as “Weekend at Bernie’s.”
“I think that this is going to be a crazy year,” Rodgers said. “They can’t roll out ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ and expect him to be able to debate and or actually carry a conversation.”
Rodgers is more complimentary of Trump, even going as far as to say meeting the 45th President at a recent UFC event was “priceless.”
However, during a conversation with Tucker Carlson in May, Rodgers indicated that he wished Trump had done more to “drain the swamp” during his time in office.
Speaking of Trump, Rodgers appears to appreciate the former president and why “red-blooded Americans” support him.
“He speaks the rhetoric of taking back, making America great again,” Rodgers said of the former president’s slogan. But Rodgers said Trump had four years to do improve the country (from 2016-20) and “didn’t drain the swamp.” Rodgers wonders whether Trump “just got scared about what he learned when he was in there.”
As for who he’s backing in the upcoming election, Rodgers has been vocal about his support for third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr, going as far as to consider becoming Kennedy’s vice presidential running mate.
No matter what happens during the 2024 election, Rodgers will likely have an opinion on it that he will share publicly.
