Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has gotten everyone’s attention so far throughout the NFL offseason. Rodgers said a lot to the media this week. He has opened up about his retirement from the NFL and a lot of other political topics.
Aaron Rodgers is 40 years old and will be entering his second NFL season with the New York Jets. A season ago, it abruptly ended after just being on the field for four snaps because he tore his Achilles.
As he was sidelined, Rodgers was still making headlines with the media about attempting a comeback. He never did because the New York Jets finished with a 7-10 record and it also felt impossible to come back that quickly from an Achilles tear.
Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Greg Jennings Warns the NFL About Aaron Rodgers Bouncing Back With the New York Jets in 2024
Greg Jennings has gone on different sports shows and has talked about different NFL topics. On Wednesday on the Craig Carton Show, Jennings talked about what kind of season he expected Aaron Rodgers to have. Jenning said:
“Listening to Aaron Rodgers say what he said, the league is in trouble. When he has this mentality, there’s no one better. … I know he’s 40, I know he’s coming off of injury. But when [he has] this mindset, with how great he is — he’s one of the smartest quarterbacks, he’s going to be a great decision-maker — if his [physical] ability is still there, and he’s taking this posture, watch out.”
Jennings was a former teammate of Rodgers and they won a Super Bowl together during the 2010 season and 2011 postseason. They were teammates from 2006-2012 and Greg Jennings was a Pro Bowl player in 2010 and 2011.
It is not a surprise that Greg Jennings still has belief in him. Rodgers has won five MVPs in his NFL career and is looking to help the New York Jets get to the playoffs for the first time since the 2010 season (2011 postseason).
New York is in Super Bowl or bust mode. If they miss the playoffs again this season, it will probably be wholesale changes for the organization. Aaron Rodgers knows it is now or never to win with the New York Jets. The Jets have the longest playoff drought in the NFL.
