Green Bay Packers news: Perhaps the biggest takeaway from the Packers’ 36-19 preseason win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Friday is that Jordan Love is poised to take over the helm now that the Aaron Rodgers era is officially over. Love didn’t put in an utterly dominant performance in his preseason debut, but he did enough to prove that Green Bay fans should be excited about what’s ahead for this young man.
Green Bay Packers News: Aaron Jones Adamant Jordan Love Is ‘More Than Ready’
Packers star Aaron Jones is buying all the hype. In a recent interview on The Rich Eisen Show, the Pro Bowl running back was asked if he felt Love was ready to step into the high-pressure role that Aaron Rodgers recently vacated. Jones was adamant in his response:
“He’s more than ready,” Jones said. “He’s very poised. He’s calm in any situation. He’s a true leader.
“Us guys who’ve been here with him liver OTAs, camp, and all of that, we know what kinda player we’re getting and we’re excited to just go lay it on the line for him and make his job easier.”
You love to hear it. Not only is one of the most prominent players on the squad offering his full support to his new QB, but Jones has also come out to say that the rest of the team is ready to go to war with Jordan Love.
Green Bay Packers News: AJ Dillon Also All-In on Jordan Love Hype Train
It’s not just Aaron Jones who Love has left a strong impression on throughout the offseason. AJ Dillon is another key weapon Love will need to utilize this coming season, and Packers fans will be glad to know that much like Jones, Dillon too is all-in on the Jordan Love hype train.
Dillon believes that Green Bay’s new QB1 is the right man to lead the “new era” for the organization as they look to turn a page on their history books. According to Dillon, he’s “excited to be a part of the first team to have a go at it” with Love. Cheeseheads should be hyped as well.
