The Green Bay Packers made the decision to bring in a new strength and conditioning coach this off-season. Players health is always a top priority for teams, however, with the amount of hamstring injuries the Packers have dealt with in recent years it seemed like even more of a priority.
A few days after the Green Bay Packers ended their season with a loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Matt LaFleur announced that he had decided to let go of Chris Gizzi as strength and conditioning coach. He had been in that role since 2019.
According to reports in February, the Packers hired Aaron Hill to fulfill this role. Hill worked for the 49ers’ strength and conditioning team for five seasons, doing some “cool things,” as LaFleur put it.
Hill has already made a significant change for the Packers.
Green Bay Packers Strength And Conditioning Coach Aaron Hill Makes Big Change At Practice

According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic:
One of the differences for pre-practice warmups this season is players are in different groups working on different exercises under new strength coach Aaron Hill. Entire team stretched as a group in prior years.

“Obviously, you guys know I’ve got a close relationship with Kyle (Shanahan),” said LaFleur, “but also with the head strength coach there, Dustin Perry, who may or may not be my wife’s first cousin. So had a lot of conversations with him.
“When we decided to make the change, just kind of asking for advice, in terms of looking for people, again interviewed a bunch of guys, there’s a lot of good strength coaches out there. But ultimately, I thought Aaron did an outstanding job in the interview process.”
It will be interesting to see if Hill’s changes correlate to less injuries during the 2024 season.
