The Green Bay Packers, and every other NFL team, is subject to report grades by the NFL Player’s Association (NFLPA) at the end of every season. Some teams, such as the New York Jets, graded very poorly. Woody Johnson, the owner who had a falling out with former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, received an F grade from his players, the worst mark among NFL owners.
And while many teams did not receive high marks across the board, the Packers received such high marks that the franchise is ranked seventh in the league based on player grading.
Green Bay Packers Leaders, Matt LaFleur and Mark Murphy, Received High Grades

Based on player grading, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur received an A- grade for the 2024 NFL season. Per the NFLPA:
- 93% of Packers players feel their head coach Matt LaFleur is efficient with their time, a rank of 18 out of 32.
- The players feel that LaFleur is moderately receptive to locker room feedback on the team’s needs, ranking him 23 of 32 head coaches in the league.
LaFleur’s A- grade ranks 20th among NFL head coaches, but that ranking should not be viewed as a detriment to head coach. He himself admitted after the season that there are ways in which he can improve and is committed to doing so.
The comment about locker room feedback is interesting, though. Perhaps one of the ways he will try to improve in 2025 is being more open to suggestions from his players.
Mark Murphy, the outgoing President and CEO of the franchise, also received an A- from the players, a grade that ranks 11th among the 32 NFL owners. Per the NFLPA:
- President and CEO Mark Murphy’s average rating for perceived willingness to invest in the facilities is 9.22 out of 10 from the Packers players, a ranking of 11 out of 32 owners in the league.
- The players feel that Murphy significantly contributes to a positive team culture, a rank of 11 out of 32.
- The Packers players feel that Murphy is extremely committed to building a competitive team, a rank of 7 of the 32 NFL owners.
Murphy has had a profound impact on the Packers franchise during his tenure as the organization’s president. It will be interesting to see how his successor, Ed Policy, grades next offseason.
