The Green Bay Packers are hosting their annual Family Night at Lambeau Field tonight. This event is highly popular and has already sold out. Family Night is a wonderful opportunity for Packers fans to watch their favorite players practice. Since the Green Bay Packers have fans from around the globe who cannot attend training camp, this event is highly anticipated. However, fans will be disappointed knowing they can only witness Family Night this year if they attend the practice in person or live locally to watch on TV.
Mark Murphy says the Green Bay Packers will not steam Family Night online
President and CEO Mark Murphy responded to five fan questions in his monthly column this morning. One fan inquired about possibly streaming Family Night from different parts of the country. Here is the question and answer:

“Mr. Murphy, I just got off the phone with WGBA after being informed that the Packers will not allow the station to stream Family Night so that the many fans around the country (world) can view the event. Please educate us as to why you do not want us to be able to view Family Night. Thank you for your time.”
“Thanks for raising this issue, Kent. We decided not to stream Family Night for competitive reasons. We will be making some adjustments with the scheme this year with a new starting quarterback and several young players at skill positions. If the practice was streamed, it would be easy for opposing teams to be able to watch the practice and gain a competitive advantage.”
Many fans are upset because they cannot watch certain training camp activities before Pre-Season games. The Green Bay Packers have been known to be very protective of their practices and filming of plays, making their decision understandable.
Either way, fans will see clips from the practice online throughout the night.
