The Green Bay Packers, unfortunately, saw many of their best players underperform in 2022. This played as big a part as any in the team’s 8-9 finish and absence from the NFC Playoffs. In 2021, the Packers put seven players on PFF’s top 101 players list. This season, just two Green Bay players earned that honor.
#64: Green Bay Packers CB Jaire Alexander

Jaire Alexander was the highest ranked Green Bay Packers player this past season. After missing most of 2021 with a shoulder injury, Alexander came back to play in 16 of 17 games while having, arguably, the best season of his career. Alexander set career-highs in interceptions (five) and tackles for loss (four). Additionally, Alexander’s 63.7 passer rating when targeted and 6.7% missed tackle percentage were the lowest of his career.
Of Alexander at #64, PFF stated:
“He wasn’t quite able to play at a high level all season, but there were stretches this year where Alexander was as good as any cornerback in football, including limiting Justin Jefferson to just one catch for 15 yards in Week 17.”
It’s kind of interesting that a player who “wasn’t able to play at a high level all season” was named Second Team All-Pro and made the Pro Bowl.
#85: Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones

Aaron Jones, who recently took a massive pay cut in order to stay in Green Bay, had a career-high 1,121 yards last season. Jones has three 1,000+ yard seasons in the past four years and now ranks third on the team’s all-time rushing list.
Of Jones at #85, PFF stated:
“Jones didn’t have much in the way of touchdown success this past season, but he was as good as ever running the football for the Packers. He averaged 3.2 yards per carry after contact while proving to be a consistent receiving threat.”
That’s fair enough. One would have to imagine that Jones would have been ranked higher if he had been given more opportunities to run the ball. One of the biggest frustrations of the 2022 season was that Jones had less than 15 carries in 12 of the 17 games in which he played. Green Bay was 4-1 when Jones had 15 or more carries.
