The Green Bay Packers went into the offseason needing to shed $14 million of salary cap space in order to just get under the salary cap. Through a series of restructures, plus running back Aaron Jones agreeing to take a pay cut, the Packers were able to get under the salary cap. Recently, Jaire Alexander and Preston Smith had their deals restructured, giving the Packers about $9.6 million in salary cap space.
The Green Bay Packers Restructure Kenny Clark’s Contract
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Packers have just restructure the contract of Kenny Clark. $13.835 million of Clark’s salary is being converted to a signing bonus and it gives the Packers an extra $11.068 million in salary cap space.
When added to the aforementioned $9.6 million, this would mean that the Packers have over $20 million in salary cap space to work with.
