Bobby Portis has embraced Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin like very few athletes do. Over the last few years he has become one of the most beloved professional athletes in the state of Wisconsin. Portis has been vocal about what Milwaukee has meant to him, specifically saying that “Milwaukee has changed my life.” That being said, Bobby Portis’ home state is Arkansas, and today he saw something that disturbed him deeply. A video is going viral right now of police beating a man laying on the ground, and Bobby Portis couldn’t believe it.
Bobby Portis Reacts to Police Brutality
While I am not going to post the graphic video in this article, this is the link. When Bobby Portis saw this video his reaction was simple:
Excuse my language but this sh*t makes me sick to my stomach.
Three law enforcement officers in Crawford County, Arkansas, have been placed on leave after a video shared on social media shows them beating and restraining a man in a parking lot. State police will investigate the incident, the governor said.
In the video, a law enforcement officer repeatedly and brutally punches the man and slams his head against the cement ground several times. Another officer is seen kicking the man’s lower body repeatedly while a third officer is seen holding the man down.
I understand this isn’t Wisconsin Sports related. However, when something impacts a player who represents our state, it is worth bringing awareness to it. Controversial issues like this can easily get misconstrued into something it’s not. This article is not to create debate or take sides. Just simply brining awareness to something that has impacted a player who represents the state of Wisconsin.
