The Green Bay Packers saw their record drop to 4-7 with a 27-17 loss to the Tennessee Titans Thursday night at Lambeau Field.
Here are a few stats (good and bad) that helped define that contest.
Tannehill has best opposing QB Passer Rating at Lambeau in five years
Bad Stat: Tennessee QB Ryan Tannehill had a Passer Rating of 127.3. It was the highest Passer Rating by an opposing QB at Lambeau in over five years. Detroit’s Matthew Stafford had a Passer Rating of 132.4 on November 6, 2017, at Lambeau. Tannehill’s teams are 26-1 in games when he has a Passer Rating of 120+.
Good Stat: Randall Cobb led the Packers receivers with six catches for 73 yards. He had two big plays (20+ yards) in the game. Seven of his 24 catches this season have been for more than 20 yards.
Bad Stat: The Titans scored in each of the four quarters. Of the Pack’s 11 games this year, this is the fifth game where the opponents scored in every quarter.
Good Stat: Krys Barnes tied for the team lead with 12 combined tackles and had a sack. Rookie LB Quay Walker tied Barnes with 12 combined tackles, his second game this year with 10+ combined tackles.
Bad Stat: Green Bay is now 3-3 in Thursday night games. They have lost consecutive Thursday night games at home (they also lost in Green Bay on Thursday to Philadelphia on September 26, 2019).
Good Stat, Bad Stat: Green Bay has now won the coin toss in four consecutive weeks. They, however, are 1-3 in those games.
Good Stat: Preston Smith had 1.5 sacks in the contest. In games where Smith has 1.5 or more sacks, his teams are 9-3.
Packers have worst kickoff touchback percentage in league
Bad Stat: Mason Crosby kicked off four times in the game. Each time the kickoff was returned by Tennessee. With his 0-for-4 on kickoff touchbacks, Crosby has now kicked off 41 times this year and there have been only nine touchbacks. That is 22%. The 22% is the lowest touchback percentage in the NFL for kickers with 20+ kickoffs.
Good Stat: Rookie receiver Christian Watson had two more TD receptions, his fifth in two games. His five TD receptions as a rookie ties him for fifth most by a first-year receiver in Packers’ history. The team record is 13 held by Billy Howton in 1952. Watson’s five TD receptions are the most by a rookie receiver since James Lofton had six in 1978.
Bad Stat: Tennessee running back Derrick Henry had 28 carries in the game. That is the most against the Packers since Minnesota’s Dalvin Cook had 30 on November 1, 2020. The Packers are 6-21-1 (.232 winning percentage) when an opposing runner has 25 or more rushing attempts in a game versus the Pack.
Keisean Nixon has 145 kick return yards for the Packers
Good Stat: Keisean Nixon had 37 punt return yards for Green Bay. That is the most punt return yards by a Packers’ player since Tyler Ervin had 51 punt return yards in a game versus Washington on December 8, 2019. Nixon also had 108 kickoff return yards, the second consecutive week he went over the 100-yard mark on kickoffs. He is the first Packers’ kick returner to have over 100 yards in kickoff returns in consecutive weeks since Dorsey Levens in Weeks #16 and #17 in 2002.
Bad Stat: The Titans had 408 total yards, the most they had in a game this season, and the most since Week #11 last season when they had 420 against the Texans.
Good Stat: The Packers did not have a turnover in the game and allowed only one sack. Prior to last night’s loss, the team had won 16 straight games when they had zero turnovers and allowed one or fewer sacks in the same game.
Good Stat: The 11 points the Packers scored in the third quarter were the most they scored in the third quarter this season.
Bad Stat: Aaron Rodgers attempted 39 passes in the game. Rodgers has attempted 39 or more passes in 65 regular season games. Green Bay is 27-37-1 (.423 winning percentage) in those games.
Bad Stat: Green Bay had only 56 yards rushing. They have lost seven of their last nine games when they have less than 60 yards rushing.
Good Stat, Bad Stat: The Pack is 3-0 this year when they score 27 or more points; they are 1-7 when they score less than 23 points in a game. They are 2-1 when they hold opponents under 20 points in a game; when opponents score 20 or more points, Green Bay is 2-6.
