With their seventh loss in their last eight games, the Green Bay Packers saw their record drop to 4-8 with a 40-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night in Philly. Here are a few Packers stats (good and bad) that defined the latest installment of Green Bay-Philadelphia.

    packers defensive coordinator

Bad Packers Stat: For the ninth time this season, the Packers allowed 23 or more points in a game. This tied for the most this season in the NFL with Las Vegas and Detroit.

Good Stat: AJ Dillon had 64 yards on eight carries. His 8.0 yards per carry in the contest is the highest of his career (minimum of five carries in a game).

Bad Packers Stat: Philadelphia QB Jalen Hurts ran for 157 yards, while RB Miles Sanders had 143 yards rushing. It was the first time in Packers’ history that two opposing players had 140+ rushing yards in the same game.

Historical Packers Stat Reached From Randall Cobb TD Catch

Good Packers Stat: With his first TD reception of 2022, Randall Cobb became the ninth Green Bay Packers player to score a TD in 10 or more different seasons with the team.

Good Stat, Bad Stat: The Pack had a 14-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. It was the most points scored by the Packers in a first quarter this season. The 13 points Green Bay surrendered to Philadelphia in the first quarter were the most scored by an opponent this year in the first quarter.

Bad Packers Stat: Mason Crosby entered the game by having only 24% of his kickoffs result in a touchback. In this game, only two of Crosby’s six kickoffs were touchbacks.

Good Stat: Quay Walker led the team with 11 combined tackles. It was his second consecutive game with 10+ combined tackles. He also had a fumble recovery in the contest.

Bad Packers Stat: The 40 points the Packers allowed was the first time they allowed 40+ points in a game since November 20, 2016 (42-24 loss to Washington). Green Bay is 3-24 in the Super Bowl era in games where they allow 40+ points.

Good Stat, Bad Stat: The 73 combined points scored by the two teams in the game was the most since Week 14 last year when the Packers beat the Bears 45-30. Since 2010, the Packers are now 12-3 in games where the two teams combine for 70+ points.

Keisean Nixon Runs Into Packers Top-10 Kickoff Yards Stat

Good Packers Stat: Keisean Nixon had 172 kickoff return yards in the game. That tied for the 10th most in Green Bay history. It is also the most kickoff return yards by a Packers player since Travis Williams had 173 yards on October 7, 2007, in a game versus the Bears.

Good Stat: Of all kickoff returners with a minimum of 20 returns this season, Keisean Nixon ranks second in the league with a 24.5 yards per return average

Bad Packers Stat: The Eagles had 363 yards rushing in the game. That is the third-most allowed in a game by the Packers in their history. The team has allowed 300+ yards rushing in 12 games in their history; they have lost all 12 of those contests.

Another big day for Christian Watson

Good Packers Stat: In the first six games of his career, rookie receiver Christian Watson had 10 catches for 88 yards and no touchdowns. In his last three games, Watson has 12 catches for 265 yards and six touchdowns. His six TDs by a rookie receiver are the most in the league this season.

Good Stat: Christian Watson has now caught a TD pass in three straight games. The Packers record for most consecutive games with a TD reception by a rookie receiver is five held by Billy Howton in 1952. The NFL record is seven by Randy Moss.

Bad Packers Stat: The Eagles had 500 total yards in the game. It was the most allowed by the Packers “D” since Oct. 6, 2019, when they allowed the Cowboys to gain 563 total yards in a 34-24 Packers’ win.

Good Stat: Jordan Love, replacing Aaron Rodgers at QB in the fourth quarter, finished the game six-for-nine for 113 yards and TD. His Passer Rating was 146.8, the highest of his career.

Mason Crosby moves up in NFL Top 10 scoring list

Good Packers Stat: Mason Crosby had nine points in the game on two field goals and three extra points. That was subsequently the 96th game of his career with nine or more points. That now places him in a tie for seventh place on the all-time NFL list. Green Bay is 80-15-1 when Crosby scores nine or more points in a game.

Bad Stat: Green Bay had only 24:26 Time of Possession (TOP) in the game to 35:35 for the Eagles. Green Bay has now lost six of their last eight games when they have less than 25 minutes TOP.

Bad Packers Stat: That was the 19th career game where Aaron Rodgers had two or more interceptions. The team is consequently 7-12 in those games. 14 of those 19 games have been on the road.

Good Stat: The Packers had three players with 85+ yards from scrimmage in the game: Christian Watson (110), Aaron Jones (99) and AJ Dillon (88). It was the first game since Week 12 last season where they had three players with 85+ yards from scrimmage in the same game.
