The New York Giants have been badly hit with the injury bug this season. Week Five of the NFL season is a direct representation of that. Five Giants players will not even travel with the team to London; many of them starters. Today the Giants got even more breaking news, this time regarding their QB situation.
Daniel Jones Will Start Vs The Packers:
Daniel Jones (ankle) was not listed on Friday’s injury report. This will clear the way for him to play in Sunday’s game against the Packers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. While Jones’ ankle injury won’t prevent him from suiting up Sunday in London, it could hinder his mobility. Green Bay’s secondary and defensive line are a difficult matchup for New York. Additionally, the Giants will be working without their top THREE wideouts. Kadarius Toney (hamstring), Wan’Dale Robinson (knee), and Kenny Golladay (knee) have all been ruled out for Sunday’s game. With Tyrod Taylor (concussion) also ruled out, Davis Webb is expected to serve as Jones’ top backup.
It is no secret that New York’s plan of attack will still be to run the ball with Saquon Barkley. Barkley is averaging a robust 116 rush yards per game so far this season. He comes into Sunday’s contest vs the Packers with 463 rush yards and two touchdowns. Daniel Jones may be limited, but the Giants have to be stoked to have their QB1 back. The Packers must come out firing on all cylinders to ensure they return to the United States 4-1.
