Giannis Antetokounmpo is the type of superstar who strikes fear in the heart of his opponents. After all, the Milwaukee Bucks talisman is one of the most imposing figures in all the of NBA. He’s also proven through the years that he’s an utterly dominant force, which is why it comes as no surprise that Antetokounmpo has become one of the most feared players in the league.
Bobby Portis on Giannis Antetokounmpo: ‘Like a Big Kid’
While he does exhibit a killer demeanor on the basketball court, Giannis is actually a very different player off the court. Don’t get me wrong; the Bucks superstar is one of the most competitive people you’ll ever meet. However, folks who have had the privilege to get to know him will attest to the fact that Antetokounmpo is a fun-loving dude.
Bucks teammate Bobby Portis is one of those people. In a recent interview, the veteran big man revealed Giannis’ lighter side. When asked about the funniest thing he’s seen from Antetokounmpo, Portis recalled one of Giannis’ favorite pranks:
“Yeah, that’s my boy,” Portis told Sam Yip of HoopsHype. “Man, it’s hard to tell because every day is something new. But, he’s always messing with somebody each and every day. In our training room, he kind of acts like a big kid. We have all these Nerf guns, shooting each other. And so, people come in and it’s definitely funny, early in the morning time people just wake up at nine in the morning and they get shot in the face. That’d be funny.”
That’s pretty much on-brand for Giannis Antetokounmpo, who clearly loves to mess around with his teammates. Portis is an easy-going fella as well, and he seems to have been involved in these Nerf gun antics too. No wonder these two get along so well.
