The Milwaukee Bucks have made it clear that Giannis Antetokounmpo will not be available before the trade deadline.

According team sources telling ESPN that the franchise is actively pursuing a player who can pair effectively with their superstar. The announcement comes as the Bucks continue to struggle, holding a 17-24 record and sitting 11th in the Eastern Conference.

“We always manage to pull something off,” a team source relayed to ESPN.

The Bucks are entering one of the most important transaction periods in franchise history. With three weeks left before the trade deadline, Milwaukee has the opportunity to either turn around a disappointing season or shift into a completely new chapter.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks are in a rare financial position, operating below the luxury tax and free of hard-cap limitations, which gives them the ability to take on multi-year contracts. League sources say that flexibility could prove crucial, particularly if Milwaukee targets players other teams are eager to trade.

Where will the Bucks find help for Giannis Antetokounmpo?

Recent reports suggest that internal discussions have included names like Zach LaVine, Malik Monk of the Sacramento Kings, Jerami Grant of the Portland Trail Blazers, and Michael Porter Jr. of the Brooklyn Nets.

Milwaukee’s sense of urgency comes from how poorly the team performs without Antetokounmpo. The Bucks are just 3–11 in his absences, and their offense has dropped to the league’s worst efficiency, making it clear they need to add dependable support before the trade deadline.

The Bucks are a completely different team with Giannis Antetokounmpo on the floor and NBA insider Zach Lowe knows that.

“They’re plus 10 with Giannis on the floor. They’re a straight up dominant team with Giannis on the floor. Their starting five which is relatively new of (Kevin) Porter (AJ) Green, Giannis, (Ryan) Rollins, (Myles) Turner, +59 in 114 minutes. This is the case for the Bucks, to be above in the power rankings and go in the playoffs with a semi-not delusional belief is we have the best player. And when that guy’s on the floor, we’re pretty goddamn good,” commented the NBA insider.
