The Milwaukee Bucks just could not catch a break but it is not bad luck if Giannis Antetokounmpo is to be asked.
“I don’t believe in bad luck,” Antetokounmpo answered when asked by one reporter if everything is due to bad luck.

“I’m too blessed to believe in bad luck. I think everything happens for a reason. I wish Dame the best. We love him.”

The Bucks have been dealing with injuries to key players since the start of the season, leaving them unable to build what was needed to be built for the playoffs. There is also of course the 25-game suspension to sixth man Bobby Portis.
Now, it is Damian Lillard. He tried his best to make a come back and be able to help the team but a devastating injury happened in the sixth minute of the first quarter, forcing him to exit the game.

Team doctors declared him out for the rest of the night with many suspecting he could be out for a long time.
The Bucks went on to lose the game, 129-103. Antetokounmpo scored 28 points although the other three starters aside from Lillard scored just 15 points combined on five field goals.
Giannis Antetokounmpo does not blame bad luck
Lillard’s injury adds to a long list of post-season adversities the Bucks faced since 2021 when they won the NBA title.
Other fans are now thinking that they sacrificed something for the future for that title run.
In 2022 playoffs, All-Star Khris Middleton was not able to play in the second round series against the Boston Celtics, leading to their failure to defend the title.

The 2023 season came and the same thing happened to the but this time it was Giannis Antetokounmpo who was injured for 2.5 out of five games against the Heat after suffering a lower back injury.
They now have Lillard in 2024 but Antetokounmpo was the one out due to left calf strain. He did not play any game in the 2-4 loss to the Pacers.
Now, it is Damian Lillard. Another first round exit is looming.
