Milwaukee Bucks are on Amen Thompson’s case after the Houston Rockets youngster ‘almost cut off’ the neck of Giannis Antetokounmpo during one play in the fourth quarter.

The Bucks were trailing their hosts, 90-92, with 4:28 to go in the fourth quarter. Giannis found himself in the middle but Thompson, who this season has been making a leap as a future star and a great two-way player, tried to stop him.

However, Antetokounmpo made a fake jump and the young Rocket found himself up in the air. He grabbed onto the Bucks superstar’s shoulder but he included the Greek Freak’s head and face while going down.

The referees called it an instant Flagrant Foul 2 which merits ejection. The Bucks were given two free throws and retained the possession but Antetokounmpo went one out of two.

Rockets still won the game by one possession.

Many fans thought what Thompson did was wrestling move.

Many also think his ejection is warranted.

This is the third time this season that Thompson has been ejected.

    Giannis Antetokounmpo loved Thompson’s physicality

Antetokounmpo has intstant defenders on his side but for him, there is nothing malicious about the play.

In an era where many fans are asking for more physicality in the league, the Bucks star welcomes the play made by the youngster although he also said that the move was a mistake.

“People just play hard. At the end of the day you don’t want to have a league that’s soft. I love guys that play hard. I love guys that are great competitors. I’m one of those guys,” Antetokounmpo told reporters after the game.

“Sometimes your competitive nature get in the way in making the best decision, the best judgment at the time. And I feel like he wanted to make a hard foul but he grabbed my neck. But there’s no hard feeling.”

He also clarified that he holds no grudge against Thompson.

“I understand when you’re a competitor you’re going to make mistakes like that. I love it. I love playing this way. I don’t have have no hard feelings against him.”

Giannis finished the game with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.
