Fresh off of an NBA Championship, two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is seeking a World Series as well. The Milwaukee Bucks’ superstar has purchased a minority ownership in the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers announced the news on Twitter:
Giannis Antetokounmpo has joined the Crew!
The two-time MVP is officially part of the Milwaukee Brewers ownership team. Thank you, Giannis, for your commitment to our team and Milwaukee!

During the Milwaukee Bucks’ Finals run, many people joked about Bucks’ minority owner Aaron Rodgers receiving his second ring as the owner of an NBA franchise. Hopefully the Brewers can give Giannis his second ring in one year as they prepare for their fourth straight postseason run.

Wisconsin Athletes Investing in Milwaukee Teams
As mentioned previously, Giannis is not the only superstar Wisconsin athlete with ownership in a Milwaukee team. Aaron Rodgers, the three-time MVP of the Green Bay Packers bought a minority stake in the Milwaukee Bucks in 2018.
Remember Ben Sheets? The former All-Star starting pitcher of the Milwaukee Brewers still holds the team record for strikeouts in a game (18). He is also a part owner of the Milwaukee Admirals hockey club. Sheets purchased his stake in the team back in 2005.
Giannis Draws Comparisons to Patrick Mahomes
With his purchase of ownership in the Milwaukee Brewers, Giannis has drawn comparisons to Kansas City Chiefs’ superstar quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. The 2018 NFL MVP signed a 10-year $503 million contract in 2020. Shortly thereafter, he bought a minority ownership in the Kansas City Royals. National media outlets now compare Giannis and Mahomes because they are generational talents that have committed to their small market cities. Not only have they signed to play long term, but they also have invested in other local teams.
Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is purchasing a stake in the Milwaukee Brewers, sources tell ESPN. Follows the model of Patrick Mahomes: small-market star investing in the local baseball franchise, which Mahomes did in joining the Royals' ownership group.

Maybe he can get a Packers’ stock and be part of a Super Bowl run, too.
