Giannis Antetokounmpo continues to do unreal things on the basketball court. The Milwaukee Bucks star and one of the frontrunners for NBA MVP put together another eye-popping performance on Thursday night.
With the Los Angeles Clippers in town, Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped 54 points with 19 rebounds on a 21-of-39 clip from the field in a 106-105 thriller at Fiserv Forum.
This was Giannis’s third 50-point game of the season, tying Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for most 50-point games in a single season. After the game, Giannis touched on the importance of tying Kareem’s record, although he admitted there is still a lot of room to grow (h/t Bally Sports Wisconsin).
Giannis on tying Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for most 50-point games in a season in #Bucks history (3): "Being up there with somebody like Kareem … it's a great compliment. But I've got to keep on working hard. I believe that I have more levels to unlock." #FearTheDeer pic.twitter.com/ocg9RPfw25

“Being up there with somebody like Kareem … it’s a great compliment. But I’ve got to keep on working hard. I believe that I have more levels to unlock.”
With LeBron James chasing Kareem’s NBA record for points, Giannis tied a record of Kareem’s with his third 50-point game, and the Bucks star admits there is room to grow till. That’s a scary sight for the NBA, and Giannis is paying out of his mind this season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo Is Playing Like An MVP
With the Bucks fighting and trying to make a run at the Boston Celtics for the top spot in the Eastern Conference, Giannis has 32.3 PPG with 12.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists. He is third in scoring, behind Joel Embid and Luka Doncic, and the Bucks look like a lock to finish the season as one of the favorites to make the NBA Finals.
What’s even more impressive is that this is the second time in the last three games that Giannis Antetokounmpo has scored 50 points.
