GiaIt’s no secret that the Milwaukee Bucks are having a fairly successful season. They’re 7-3 in the last 10 games, including a West coast sweep. They’re currently 1st in the Eastern Conference, and are 2.5 games ahead of the Boston Celtics. As great as the Bucks have been, however, Giannis Antetokounmpo individually, is having an amazing season. We’ve heard a lot about how Nikola Jokić could possibly three-peat in being the MVP again this year. We’ve also heard about Joel Embiid as well. With all due respect, Giannis should win the award this year.
Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded his 6th 45-point, 10-rebound game of the season.
Over the last 50 seasons, the only players to record more in a season are Bob McAdoo (8) in 1974-75 and Russell Westbrook (7) in 2016-17.

Making the case
As we’ve seen over the last few weeks, Giannis has started to evolve his offensive game. His 3pt shooting has improved, and shooting 67% from the free throw line. No, that doesn’t blow you away. However, it’s a massive improvement for Giannis. As we know, this will be essential when playoff time come around. The game slows down significantly. So Giannis being able to be somewhat of a reliable free throw shooter is extremely important. Though the Bucks have seemingly have flown under the radar for what seems like the entire season, their play on the court has been rather consistent all season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Vs The Competition
Let’s be clear, Embiid, and Jokić both have sting cases for being the MVP of the NBA as well. However, over the last ten games especially Giannis Antetokounmpo has been able to slightly separate himself from the competition. He currently sits at 4th in the NBA in scoring. He’s also been extremely efficient as hes shooting 55% from the field. His defense has continued to be stellar as well. With only playing less than half the season, he’s the leader of the best defensive team in the league.
