Giannis is no stranger to being named among one of the all-time greats. In the history of the NBA, there have been 580 times when a player scored 50 points or more in a regular season game. In only 28 of those games (or 4.8 percent) the player that scored 50+ points also made 75% or higher of their field goal attempts in the contest.
For the second time in his career, Giannis Antetokounmpo reached those numbers.
Giannis had 50 points and shot 76.9% from the field
In the Bucks Sunday night win over New Orleans, Giannis scored 50 points and made 20 of 26 field goal attempts, a .769 shooting percentage. It was the second time in his career that he had a 50-point game with a shooting percentage over 75%. The other time was on February 15, 2022, when he scored 50 points in a home game against the Indiana Pacers… he made 17 of 21 shots in the game, a shooting percentage of 81%. Giannis is the only player in Bucks’ history to reach these numbers in a game.
The 50-point, 75% shooting in a game has happened 28 times in NBA history by 15 players. Giannis became the sixth player in league history to accomplish this feat in more than one game. In fact, Wilt Chamberlain tops this list having accomplished these stats in eight career games.
