The Milwaukee Bucks look to return to their winning ways tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies. Previously winners of five straight, the Bucks are coming off a blowout loss at home to the Denver Nuggets. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies will be looking to secure their third win in a row.
Bucks Players to Watch
Of course, Giannis Antetokounmpo is putting together another MVP-caliber season. He leads the team in points (29.1), rebounds (11.7), and assists (5.8). The Bucks will continue to work Jrue Holiday back into the rotation as he continues his return from COVID-19.
The Bucks recalled Mamadi Diakite from the NBA G League earlier this week, but he is not expected to play.
Grizzlies Players to Watch
The Memphis Grizzlies are led by rising star Ja Morant. Morant is averaging 19.1 points and 7.8 assists per game, both lead the team. Jonas Valanciunas, an eight-year veteran, is having a solid season as well. He is averaging 15.7 point and 11.3 rebounds per game from the center position. A 37% three point shooter, he presents an issue for Brook Lopez, he struggles to cover outside of the paint.
Keys to Victory
The Bucks have to be better at defending the three point shot than they were against Denver. Additionally, they need to challenge shots from all over the floor. Denver shot over 55% from the field on Tuesday; that cannot happen again.
Offensively, the Bucks need to find their own rhythm as well. After shooting 27% from three against the Nuggets, the team will look to bounce back offensively. Giannis, of course, will be effective. However, it is up to the rest of the team to support him with outside shooting. After all, that is why most of them were brought on the team in the first place.
