Fox Analyst: The Packers Are Super Bowl Pretenders

The Green Bay Packers finished the 2021 regular season with the best record in the NFL. Standing at 13-4, they have a first round bye and the road to the Super Bowl in the NFC will run through Lambeau. In addition, multiple sports books have the Packers as the favorite to win the Super Bowl. That, however, does not seem to mean much to Troy Aikman, who appeared on the Adam Schefter Podcast last week.

Troy Aikman Does Not Believe the Packers Are Contenders

To be sure, this does not come as a great surprise to most Packers’ fans. After all, Troy Aikman’s play calling during Packers’ games and his obvious bias against them make it clear he has no love for the team. He proved as much when asked about who he believes will come out of the NFC:

“I know a lot of people would say Green Bay, but I’ve covered a lot of Packers games and they’ve played some pretty average football teams and barely got out of those games with a win. I think Aaron Rodgers, of course, if he’s not their quarterback they lose a lot more of those games.”

Leave it to Troy Aikman to make the astounding, mind-blowing observation that Aaron Rodgers makes the Green Bay Packers a better football team. This is why he gets paid the big bucks, folks.

Aikman’s Obvious Favorite to Win It All

It should come as no surprise that Troy Aikman’s favorite team to win it all is the team with whom he won three Super Bowls in the 1990s: the Dallas Cowboys.

“But I think it is wide open in the NFC. Regardless of whatever you think of the way that Dallas has played here over the last six weeks, I think you can say the same things about Arizona, Tampa Bay, Los Angeles and even the Green Bay Packers. So I think Dallas, this team has a good feel. I think Mike McCarthy has done a good job, but I think Dak Prescott really sets the tone. They’ve got playmakers on defense. I think that this is as good a year for them to go and win it all as they’ve had.”

If, by chance, the Green Bay Packers face the Dallas Cowboys in the playoffs, and Troy Aikman is calling the game, it might become the most mutable televised event ever.

Why anyone would think that the Packers are pretenders as ridiculous. There isn’t a deeper more talented football team in the NFL. And now that we are 100% healthy and have the best 53 going out there during the playoffs the Green Bay Packers will prove who The pretenders are and who the genuine article is.

Hilarious, considering Dallas was knocked out by the Niners.
