Former Packers Wide Receiver MVS on Playing With Davante Adams

Packers wide receivers has been a huge source of news and rumors ever since Green Bay dropped their home playoff game to the San Francisco 49ers. Since then, the Packers bid adieu to three wide receivers: Davante Adams via trade and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (MVS) and Equanimeous St. Brown to free agency. Now that the three are entering organized team activities with their new teams, they are answering questions about their time in Green Bay. Specifically, MVS was asked what he learned from his former teammate, Davante Adams. His answer: “A lot.”

MVS Has High Praise for Davante Adams and Randall Cobb

Current Chiefs wide receiver MVS had a great deal of praise for his former teammates in Green Bay.

MVS is known in Green Bay Packers content creator circles for being a tough interview. It’s not that he is unfriendly or dismissive. He is just a man of few words. When it came to his former teammates with the Packers, though, MVS had plenty of great things to say:

“Between [Adams] and Randall Cobb — my four years in Green Bay, I learned so much from those guys. They were the epitome of what you want for a veteran leader on and off the field.

“I talk to Davante regularly. I just talked to him [Wednesday]. We send clips back and forth to each other. Like, ‘Hey, what could I have done here?’ or, ‘Show me something that you did in practice that I liked.’ That’s one of my closest friends. We still talk regularly. I think that he’s going to be great. I get to see him twice a year, so that’s going to be fun as well. He’s one of those guys that you can’t really replicate — he’s a one-of-a-kind talent — but he’ll teach you everything that he can teach you.

“And I think that’s a great thing — and I definitely want to be able to teach the younger guys underneath me the same things that I was taught.”

MVS Is Turning Heads in Kansas City

Even though he has yet to play a game with the Kansas City Chiefs, MVS is already turning heads during their OTA’s. By all accounts, he is developing a very strong rapport with MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Many Packers fans may have felt better going into 2022 if Green Bay had been able to re-sign MVS. After his drop issues in 2020, he had a much better season in 2021 with a 0.0% drop percentage. If he is able to stay healthy for the Chiefs, he is going to have a great deal of success in that system.
