Burnett’s Packers Career Highlighted by Super Bowl Win

Burnett announced his retirement through a letter on Instagram in March of 2021 to the Packers, fans, and former teammates. Today, he officially signed with the Packers in order to retire as a Packer and finish off his career where he built it. Burnett has always expressed gratitude towards his former teammates and fans in Green Bay and this gesture towards the Packers adds to it.
Over his career in the playoffs specifically, Burnett registered 66 tackles, two interceptions, and two sacks. Burnett also played for the 2010 Super Bowl winning squad and helped contribute as a rookie. He was a reliable, consistent player for a number of years and his absence was felt when he left. Burnett has always been a fan favorite and this decision comes at no surprise. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced today Burnett will make himself available to the media tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. CT.

It is a great sight to see when a player who is part of franchise history retires with the team. It was obviously sad to see him go in the first place, but to end his career here is amazing for Packers fans. Tomorrow should be interesting as well since he gets to address the media in Green Bay for the first time in a long time. Congratulations again to Morgan on an amazing career ending where it started!
