A former Packers offensive lineman is out for the season
The Chicago Bears poached a couple of former Green Bay Packers members from last season. Coach Luke Getsy is now the Bears’ offensive coordinator. Lucas Patrick, who played guard and center for the Packers, was supposed to help Getsy’s transition to the Bears be a little more smooth. The former Packers lineman is now out for the season.
Patrick was injured in the Bears’ victory over the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. ESPN television cameras caught Patrick taking a cart back to the locker room following the injury. He was placed on the injured reserve not too long after. It was unclear then if he’d be back for the Bears later this season.
According to Brad Biggs with the Chicago Tribune, Patrick will miss the rest of the season. Patrick had toe surgery.

Getsy’s offense has become pretty explosive over the previous few weeks with him and quarterback Justin Fields. The Bears would have been better served with the former Packers lineman at center over Sam Mustipher. The Bears will play the Packers in Week 13. It’ll be interesting to see how different the two teams will look from their Week 2 contest.
