John Kuhn knows that it has been a tough year for Wisconsin sports fans. After all, he covers all Wisconsin sports five days a week on his show “Nine 2 Noon” on 97.3 The Game. Coming into this week, there was plenty of pessimism surrounding multiple Wisconsin sports teams. The Green Bay Packers missed the playoffs. Doing so at the hands of the Detroit Lions at home in Week 18 did not help matters either.
The Milwaukee Bucks had lost two in a row and have been without Khris Middleton for most of the season. Up until Tuesday night, the only free agent the Milwaukee Brewers had signed was Wade Miley. Furthermore, the Wisconsin Badgers had lost three games in a row. Fans were incredibly vocal in their displeasure for their teams. On Monday’s show, John Kuhn shared a message for these fans.
John Kuhn Gives Fans a Dose of Reality
One of the things that Kuhn and his co-hosts discussed on the show was the perception that Wisconsin’s professional teams were no longer in their championship windows. When Kuhn heard that, he went on this rant:
“Corbin Burnes and Brandon Woodruff give you chance. They’re taking bites of the apple. The season’s over, and am I sitting here telling you that the Brewers have a chance? Yeah, I am!
The Bucks? Do they still have a chance? Yeah. They have Giannis. They have Khris. They have Jrue.
Do the Packers have a chance? In football, as we’ve seen it, it changes real quickly. And I’m not a guy who was in love with what the Green Bay Packers were about. But do they have a chance? Yeah. I saw what Christian Watson did last year. I saw what Romeo Doubs did last year.
“There is no silver lining. What I just told you is the truth!”
Since that segment, the Brewers signed Brian Anderson, the Bucks won two games in a row, and the Packers… well, Aaron Rodgers Tuesday happened on The Pat McAfee Show. Still, it was a good reminder that things are not always as dire as fans on social media make them out to be.
