When the Green Bay Packers lost Josh Myers to a knee injury last season, Lucas Patrick stepped in. Patrick played well for the Packers, but was not brought back. Instead, he signed with Green Bay’s biggest rival: the Chicago Bears. In his introductory news conference, Patrick had some strong words for the Packers.
Lucas Patrick Claims the Bears Are the More Historic Team
One of the things Patrick said in his press conference was that the Packers were “a” historic team. The Bears, however, are “THE” historic team.
#Bears center Lucas Patrick: "To go from one historic franchise to THE historic franchise in the NFL … it's Chicago, that was too good to pass up."

The Chicago Bears were founded on September 17, 1920. The Green Bay Packers were founded on August 11, 1919. Chicago has won nine NFL championships, including one Super Bowl. The Packers, on the other hand, have won 13 NFL championships, including four Super Bowls.
I’m not sure what Lucas Patrick was thinking when he said this. Perhaps just catering to his new fan base?
Lucas Patrick Believes the Bears Will Beat the Packers
When addressing the Packers’ recent dominance of the Bears, Lucas Patrick had this to say:
Lucas Patrick said on his role in the Bears’ rivalry with the Packers: “I’ve been on the winning side and I’m going to stay on the winning side.”
Love this dude.

The Green Bay Packers overtook the Bears in the historic rivalry in 2017. As of right now, the Packers lead the all-time series 103-95-6. Additionally, Green Bay has won six straight games against their rivals to the South.
It’s cool that Patrick is bringing this aura of confidence with him. However, despite losing Davante Adams, the Packers still have a much better team. Patrick is sure to have his hands full blocking the Packers’ pass rushers this year. You better believe Kenny Clark heard these comments. And he will remember.
