It is that time of the year where teams will be making a large number of cuts over the next few days. Teams need to trim their rosters down to 53 by Tuesday. Many teams still have well over 80 players on their roster. Every year we see players get cut that comes as a bit of a surprise. We also see surprises every year of unexpected players making the 53 man roster. Today, a former Packers cornerback was released by the San Francisco 49ers.
Ka’Dar Hollman Released By The 49ers:
49ers cut defensive back Ka'Dar Hollman, who was in training camp with the Texans, per league source. Former Green Bay Packers sixth-round draft pick

Hollman was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round (185th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. On May 3, 2019, he signed his rookie contract with the Packers. Hollman spent both 2019 and 2020 with the Packers. He played in 18 total games, starting one of them for the Packers defense. He finished with 10 total tackles and 3 pass deflections during that time.
On August 23, 2021, Hollman was traded to the Houston Texans for a 2022 seventh round pick. He was waived on August 31, 2021. After bouncing around between the Giants and Texans, he landed in San Francisco.
Could Green Bay Bring Hollman Back?
While is it very unlikely, if the depth at the CB position remains a concern, it is hard to imagine ruling anyone out. The Packers have a three headed monster at CB with Alexander, Douglas, and Stokes. However depth beyond that is a little troublesome. Ka’Dar Hollman knows the system and has real playing experience in Green Bay. Hollman finished with nine tackles during the 2022 NFL pre-season.
