Former Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez spent six seasons in Milwaukee. He received MVP votes in 2013 and 2014. Current Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was drafted in 2013 and has won two MVP awards. On Friday December 30, 2022 the two athletes connected after a Bucks win that was played at Fiserv Forum. It also was a game that Giannis made history in and Gomez received the game jersey afterwards.
During the Bucks and Timerwolves game, Giannis became just the third player to post a 40-20-5 game in back-to-back games. Elgin Baylor and Wilt Chamberlain are the only two other players who accomplished the feat. Gomez will now have that game jersey in his possession.
Great time at @Bucks game tonight! Thank you @Giannis_An34 for connecting after the game, it was an honor and thank you for the historic game jersey!! Congrats on the amazing night becoming the 3rd player in NBA history to have back-to-back 40-20-5 games!!

Carlos Gomez shared this picture on his twitter account. Brewer fans had lots of nice words to say about the former All-Star and MVP candidate.

Man you were the reason I fell in love with baseball, Giannis is the reason I fell in love with basketball. You guys were and are the reason to watch Wisconsin sports! Not going to lie we used to take bets on you losing your helmet when you swung at the Brewers games 🤣!
