Former Badgers QB worked out with the Seattle Seahawks
Making it to the NFL is hard. Staying in the NFL is harder. Former Badgers quarterback Jack Coan is trying to claw his way onto a team’s roster during the season. After playing with the Wisconsin Badgers for four years, Coan transferred to Notre Dame as a graduate for his final college football season. He led the Irish to a New Years’ Six Bowl appearance. That’s two major bowl appearances Coan helped lead his teams to as he took the Badgers to a Rose Bowl in the 2019-20 season.
Following his college career, Coan looked for opportunities to play in the NFL. The former Badgers quarterback was not drafted, but Coan was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Indianapolis Colts this offseason. He was waived in August.
However, Coan is still looking for possibilities in the NFL. According to Ben Kenny at The Zone, Coan worked out for the Seattle Seahawks this week.

Coan will have more chances
According to the NFL’s transfer wire, Coan hasn’t been signed by the Seahawks yet. The former Badgers quarterback will still need to work hard and hope for some luck to fall his way before signing onto a practice squad. As teams become more injured this season, Coan may find a team later on in the season.
Coan had great success with the Badgers during the team’s run in 2019-20. He suffered an unfortunate injury that allowed Graham Mertz to start for the team. And Mertz’s success caused Coan to enter the transfer portal. It worked out for both parties in the end. But Coan has a lot of talent, and he showed that in South Bend last season. He’ll continue to get opportunities in the future, either in the NFL or another league.
