Former 6th Man of the Year Gets Slammed for Echoing ‘Run and Dunk’ Diss on Giannis Antetokounmpo, Suggesting Bucks Star’s Game is Limited Compared to Other MVP Candidates SGA, Nikola Jokic

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been consistently in the top five of scoring each NBA season, an MVP candidate in that span but people still suggests he is a limited player.

The latest to echo that sentiment is three-time Sixth Man of the Year Lou Williams.

Williams was at the ‘Run it Back’ show together with Chandler Parsons and Michelle Beadle and were discussing this season’s MVP candidates. Frontrunners are Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic who already won it three times, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Bucks’ very own Antetokounmpo who won the award twice already.

Between the three, the Greek Freak’s name is not as loud in in many discussions. Williams has a theory.

Instead of talking about what Antetokounmpo is doing this season, he said the Bucks star’s game remains limited.

“I feel like Giannis hasn’t added pieces to his game,” he said.

“As you get older, as you evolve in this game, you’ve got to add something. Usually, you see guys add something. We saw [Shai Gilgeous-Alexander] add pieces to his game from last year to this year. [Nikola Jokic] has been way more dominant this year than he was last year.”

    Giannis Antetokounmpo’s mid range shot

Antetokounmpo’s most notable weapon this season is his mid-range shot. That’s what fans were quick to point out.

Giannis is one of 6 players to make 100 midrange shots this season.

All these guys should be here to tell you what t is really going on.
They’re not even watching the games.

Giannis ranks 8th in FGA from the mid range, shooting 46.6%, which ranks him in 5th in the NBA among guys with at least 3 attempts per game.

Giannis is shooting a career high 47% on mid range shots.

Giannis is quite literally one of the best midrange shooters in the league this season… https://t.co/zaUgej4kF7

Williams recognized it but he does not think it is enough.

“I want to see Giannis add a piece. That mid-range, we were talking about that mid-range earlier in the season, kind of got away from it. Add the three-ball, add something to your bag that we haven’t seen. I think it’s just more of the same.”

Is Williams correct or not? Should Giannis added three point shot to his game instead of dominating inside?
