The Green Bay Packers are set to receive the New York Jets 2024 second-round pick after Aaron Rodgers was officially diagnosed with an Achilles injury following an MRI procedure Tuesday morning. Packers fans reacted to the news on social media.
Green Bay Packers set to pick up Jets 2024 second-round pick
The Packers traded Rodgers to the Jets with a clause that the future HOF quarterback had to play 65 percent of the Jets’ offensive snaps in order for Green Bay to receive New York’s 2024 first-round pick. Any fewer and the Packers would receive the Jets 2024 second-round pick.
Rodgers lasted only four snaps of the Jets’ regular season before he succumbed to the Achilles injury that will end his 2023 season–if not his NFL career. The diagnosis means the Packers are set to take the Jets second-round pick in the 2024 draft.
While that’s not the first-rounder the Packers front office hoped for, it’s not nearly as bad of a deal as what the Jets now must eat. They’ll give up a second-round pick for a player who was unable to complete one drive in the regular season.

Hope it's a high second rounder #gopackgo

At this point, the value is more than enough for a guy who only played 4 snaps for a team in a whole season and we end up with Van Ness and a second rounder.

We probably only dropped by 15 picks though

As I stated previously, a second-round pick for one drive is outstanding value.

Still a win for the Packers

Really don’t care about the pick at this point just hoping for the best for Rodgers. Hate to believe that it could possibly be the end for him.

We’ll still take the 2nd. He could be on the shelf on the @packers roster. No thanks.
