The Packers beat the Falcons last night 30-16 to improve to 4-0. The Packers are off to a hot start through the first quarter of this NFL season. Green Bay is one of the six undefeated teams remaining in The NFL. The Falcons dropped to 0-4 and are dealing with many injuries, as are the Packers. Adams and Lazard didn’t play and The Packers offense didn’t miss a beat, scoring 30 points last night.

    Rodgers and Tonyan Lead Offense

Aaron Rodgers is playing at an MVP level right now. Rodgers went 27-33 for 327 yards and four touchdowns. Without his best wide receivers, Rodgers would need others to step up in their absence. That guy was Robert Tonyan who had six receptions, 98 yards, and three touchdowns. Rodgers said after the game that Tonyan has really improved throughout the last year. Aaron Jones and Jamal Willams played big roles running and catching the ball as well last night. The Packers offense now through four games has had zero turnovers.

The big question mark coming into this game was how will the Packers do against Jones and Ridley in the secondary. Jaire Alexander, Kevin King, and the whole secondary did a wonderful job last night against the Falcons two best playmakers, holding Ridley and Jones to a combined four receptions 32 yards and 0 touchdowns. Za’Darius Smith had 3 sacks last night and now has 5 total sacks on the season. The Packers need to work on their tackling though. There were too many missed tackles last night that resulted in giving up some big plays.

    What’s Next

The Packers now head into their bye week at 4-0 and at top of the NFC North. The bye is much needed at the moment because the Packers are dealing with plenty of injuries. They also need to clean a few things up which Aaron Rodgers stated in his postgame interview with Lisa Salters of ESPN. The Packers after the bye week play at Tampa Bay on October 18 at 3:25 pm CT on Fox.
