When Marquez Valdes-Scantling decided to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ practice squad, he saw it as an opportunity to get himself closer to sharing the field with Aaron Rodgers again. The two had been teammates before with the Green Bay Packers, and their chemistry still shines these days with the Steelers.
They even teamed up for a touchdown during Week 15’s edition of Monday Night Football, just like old times.
On a 2nd-and-7 in the third quarter against the Miami Dolphins, Rodgers lobbed a pass to Valdes-Scantling to cap off a six-play drive with a 19-yard touchdown.

It was not a Packers game, but Green Bay fans can still find some comfort in seeing the two former GB players connecting on a touchdown during a primetime showdown.
That touchdown also put MVS, who spent his first four years in the NFL with Green Bay, in an all-time club with Rodgers.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling becomes the 2nd player to catch a pass from Aaron Rodgers on both the Packers and Steelers. He joins.. Aaron Rodgers himself, who caught three of his own passes with Green Bay and one this season with Pittsburgh.

Rodgers finished the game with 224 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions while completing 23 of his 37 throws in a 28-15 home win for Pittsburgh at Acrisure Stadium. Meanwhile, Valdes-Scantling’s touchdown was the only target he saw in the contest, with DK Metcalf and Kenneth Gainwell doing most of the heavy lifting in the passing attack alongside Rodgers.
The Steelers are No. 1 in the AFC North division standings with an 8-6 record.
