Point guard is what the Milwaukee Bucks will need in the new NBA season. Maybe they can try to go for Patrick Beverley again?

Beverley spent half a season with the Bucks in 2024. He played in Israel after that and now’s looking to return.
“I’m making my entrance back to the NBA next year. I miss it,” he said in an X post with the caption “The comeback is near.”
“I [messaged] a couple of [general managers], a couple of coaches. I said ‘listen, invite me to training camp. I don’t need [any] favors. I don’t need none of that. Just invite me to training camp and I’ll do the rest.”
Beverley will turn 37 when the new season starts.

He said he is willing to fight for a spot in a team that is in need of a point guard.
“We need to see which teams need a point [guard]. I know I can impact any team. If you got a roster spot there, let me fight for a roster spot.”
Milwaukee Bucks’ point guard situation
The Bucks won’t have Damian Lillard for the most part of the 2025-2026 NBA season after he was diagnosed with an ACL tear that abruptly ended his 2025 playoffs. They still have Kevin Porter Jr. and Ryan Rollins although they spent 2025 mostly as reserves.

Beverley was not renewed by the Bucks in 2024 although it might have to do with his spat with Indiana Pacers fans when they got eliminated in Game 6 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
He still has a connection with the team though as he remains friends with Giannis Antetokounmpo, even defending him amidst all the trade rumors surrounding the Greek Freak.
Doc Rivers, in case he does not get fired, is also his long-time coach during their time together with the Los Angeles Clippers.
