The Green Bay Packers traded up in the second round in take wide receiver Christian Watson in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Apparently, they had tried to trade up to take him at the end of the first round. However, the Minnesota Vikings did not want to give the Packers the ability to use a fifth year option on whatever player they chose. At the end of the day, though, Watson is a Packer and has a great deal of hype surrounding him. In their most recent projections, ESPN released their expectations for Christian Watson with the Packers in 2022. If he lives up to them, the rest of the NFL is in trouble.

Christian Watson Is Projected to Be a Force on the Packers Offense
Christian Watson came into the NFL after a stellar season at North Dakota State University. As a senior in 2021, Watson recorded 43 receptions for 801 yards and seven touchdowns. These may not seem like stellar numbers, but one must remember the NDSU ran the ball almost 1,500 times more than they threw it during Watson’s career there. He did not get the ball thrown to him that often.
ESPN predicts that Watson will transition to the NFL very nicely. According to their experts, Christian Watson will have 53 receptions for 709 yards and six touchdowns. If this turns out to be close to what Watson does on the field, he will have the best rookie season by a Packers’ second round wide receiver ever.
