Equanimeous St. Brown responds to his former teammate
Chicago Bears wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown made a great play on his former teammate on Sunday. St. Brown faked out Jaire Alexander on a route and beat him for a 56-yard yard reception in the second quarter. The catch set up a Bears touchdown. The Packers cornerback responded to the play after the game.
Alexander called St. Brown a “scrub” and said that he shouldn’t have let St. Brown make the play on him. Alexander then gave a backhanded compliment to the receiver, who was with the Packers from the 2018-21 NFL seasons.
Jaire Alexander on what he thought after giving up that 56-yard catch to former teammate Equanimeous St. Brown:
"Nothing. Man, he a scrub. I can’t believe I let him catch that on me. But hat’s off to him because he did make a good catch."

St. Brown responded to the comment on Monday. According to Colleen Kane with the Chicago Tribune, St. Brown said Alexander texted an apology to him. St. Brown appeared to excuse the comment for postgame stress:
“It was probably heat of the moment for him,” St. Brown said. “I don’t take anything personal. It is what it is.”
Bears WR Equanimeous St. Brown said Packers CB Jaire Alexander texted him to apologize for his postgame comments, which included calling St. Brown "a scrub." "It was probably heat of the moment for him," St. Brown said. "I don’t take anything personal. It is what it is."

St. Brown and Alexander had a great back-and-forth game. St. Brown was the game’s leading wide receiver. Jaire Alexander’s late fourth-quarter interception allowed the Packers’ offense to take a two-possession lead on the ensuing drive, ensuring the Packers won the game. One would expect it from a game between the Packers and the Bears. It’s too bad the beef was between two former teammates.
