Jordan Love has Green Bay Packers holding their breath ahead of their clash with the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wildcard round.
The Packers quarterback got injured in their loss to the Chicago Bears last week due to the numbness of his hand and was not made available in second half as a precautionary measure according to head coach Matt LaFleur.
If his status does not get upgraded by the time the clash comes, Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio thinks their own game plan will be affected, too.
“If Love doesn’t go, there’s a little bit of change in their offense but not a gross change,” Fangio told reporters after Thursday practice.
So what is the current status of Love?
The Eagles DC should feel a little more relieved because there is a chance his initial defensive plan could be retained.
Love participated in a limited capacity in Wednesday practice. He also keeps his faith that he will be available to play on Sunday
Fangio details how Jordan Love orchestrates Packers offense
It seems Fangio knows the Packers and Love very well based on his statements about their Wildcard opponent.
Talking to reporters without spilling much about his game tactics, Fangio explained Love’s brillance.
“That offense needs a guy that can throw it down the field. He can do that,” Fangio said of Love. “They need a guy that can scramble a little bit and be elusive. He can do that.
“He’s a perfect fit for their offense.”
Fangio praised the fifth-year man as somone who is a perfect fit for Lafleur’s offense.
“He’s got a big arm. He can throw it to all parts of the field with accuracy and touch. He’s got good movement in the pocket. He’s elusive. And he really fits their offense,” he said.
