The behavior of Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson after his team’s 31-27 victory over the Green Bay Packers in Saturday’s NFC Wild Card showdown at Soldier Field has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, including none other than legendary college basketball personality Dick Vitale.

The  86-year-old Vitale went full “old man yells at cloud” on social media, as he blatantly called out Johnson.

“Total CLASSLESS attitude in winning by BEN JOHNSON coach of the @ChicagoBears in the fab comeback to beat the @packers .Main theme should have been the gutty comeback not the childish F__ Packers comments,” Vitale shared via a post on X, the platform previously known as Twitter.

Packers’ loss to Bears leaves lots of questions for Green Bay

It is no secret that Johnson cherishes beating Matt LaFleur. A bigger non-secret is the fact that the Bears and the Packers don’t like each other, so whatever Johnson did and regardless of his he conducted himself after eliminating Green Bay from the playoffs, everything just adds up to the storied rivalry of the two NFC North franchises.

For now, the Bears have all the reasons in the world to thump their chest and celebrate, but they clearly have yet to finish the job. As for Green Bay, the team enters an interesting offseason after yet another early exit from the playoffs.

Despite star quarterback Jordan Love throwing for 323 passing yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions, Green Bay still lost to Chicago, as the Packers failed to prevent the Bears from completing a come-from-behind win on the strength of a 25-point fourth quarter by Caleb Williams and company.
