Devin Williams said that the Milwaukee Brewers never made staying an opportunity
After witnessing Josh Hader and Corbin Burnes being traded before reaching free agency, Devin Williams expressed that he knew he would be dealt this offseason. He acknowledged that this is simply how the Brewers operate as an organization. Williams also revealed that staying with the team was never presented as an option. Reading between the lines, this means that contract extension talks were never initiated.
“As someone that has been there for the last 6 years, I understand that’s how they operate. It was expected. I don’t think it was, ‘did I want to stay or not?’ They never made that a possibility.”
