The Detroit Lions were one of the best teams in the NFL entering Sunday’s matchup against the Green Bay Packers. Detroit looked like they were the best team in the NFL once again during the 24-14 win on the road against Green Bay on Sunday afternoon.
The Lions look like they could be on track to get the number one seed in the NFC Playoffs. Detroit won the NFC North title last season and could very well do it again for the second consecutive season.
Detroit Lions Make History During Win Against the Green Bay Packers
With the win for the Lions, they improve to 7-1 on the season. This is the first time since 1956 that Detroit started that strong. It has been a long time since Detroit has been very successful. They have not won a Super Bowl Title in franchise history and they could have a great chance to accomplish that goal this season.
The Detroit Lions’ next opponent will be the 6-3 Houston Texans on the road next Sunday night. It will be another tough road test for the Lions.
Jared Goff Continues To Shine
Once again, Jared Goff is shining for the Lions offense. He completed 18-of-22 passes for 145 yards and one touchdown. Goff did not throw an interception. He threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown in the second quarter for the Lions. St. Brown finished the game with seven receptions for 56 yards receiving and a score.
During this 7-1 start this season for the Lions, it has felt rare for Jared Goff to throw an incomplete pass. He has been very efficient for Detroit offensively. What also has helped this offense is a very strong running game, offensive line, and offensive coordinator, Ben Johnson.
