The Green Bay Packers’ showdown against the Detroit Lions has colossal stakes in the NFC North race, with the Packers riding the momentum from a blowout win over the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night and the Lions struggling to get and stay healthy on defense.
In a game between two division rivals with so much on the line, every bit of an advantage in any key area could prove to be the difference-maker.
Unfortunately for the Lions, running back Jahmyr Gibbs may have accidentally given the Packers a sneak peak at Detroit’s game plan for Thursday night.
Gibbs appears to have posted a screenshot of a sizable portion of the Lions’ playbook on a whiteboard in the team’s facility across his social media.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell was not thrilled about the post, when he was made aware of it during a recent press conference.
“Who is that?” asked Campbell. “Oh, I didn’t know that. Did not know that. OK, I need to check on that then. Did not know that. Yeah, I’d rather our stuff not be out there. Thanks.”
Whether those plays are part of the Lions’ plan for Thursday night is anyone’s guess, outside of the Meijer Performance Center. However, the fact that the terminology was made public isn’t just a huge advantage for the Packers but could be a major headache for the Lions coaching staff and the rest of the team.
If Campbell and the Lions plan on using any of those plays, the coaching staff now needs to come up with new terminology, which means spending time on a rather mundane task during an already truncated week ahead of Thursday night’s game.
Meanwhile, head coach Matt LaFleur and the Packers could simply hand out the play-sheet to keep his team on guard for whether they hear any terminology and could also have members of the coaching staff try to decipher the code words for individual players and concepts.
A high-stakes game of chess just got a bit more interesting on Thursday night.
