Every offseason there is usually one player who is wanting to move on from his current team. This year, a DeAndre Hopkins trade is possible after the All-Pro receiver requested to move on from the Arizona Cardinals. After an abysmal year, the Cardinals fired their coach and are in a complete rebuild. Hopkins is ready to win now. Green Bay has been a team that many think should trade for Hopkins and one proposal has them giving up a package of picks.

Packers Give Up Picks For DeAndre Hopkins?
Here is the proposed DeAndre Hopkins trade. The Packers would send this year’s 3rd round (78), 4th round (116), 7th round (222), and next year’s 4th round pick to the Cardinals for Hopkins. This would solidify the wide receiver room as Hopkins would become the WR1 with second-year players Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson taking more secondary roles.
DeAndre Hopkins Trade Analysis
I personally love this DeAndre Hopkins trade. The Packers have my permission to trade every 3rd-round pick to another team. 7th-round picks are notoriously high variance. The two 4th-round picks hurt a little, but Hopkins is a talent that is worth it. This still leaves the Packers with first and second-round picks in the upcoming draft to fill more holes on the roster. While the Packers are giving up opportunities for young talent, they would be getting a pure WR1.
It is unclear whether Hopkins wants to come to Green Bay or not. Reportedly, he wants to go to either Jacksonville or the Los Angeles Chargers. I do think whether GM Brian Gutekunst trades for him or not hinges on whether Aaron Rodgers comes back or not. I don’t think that Hopkins would be really excited to catch balls from Jordan Love, but might look at partnering with Rodgers as an opportunity to make a Super Bowl run.

That is too much to give up for Hopkins. If he were a few years younger I’d be all for it! But he’s over 30 yrs old if memory serves me right? He’s also been injury prone the last few years from all the hits he’s taken from all of the catches of course. For me a 3rd & 4th is probably enough for him, but worst case scenario I’d throw in a 7th rd pick & that’s all. They would only be getting him for a couple years if they’re lucky & he stays healthy? That’s alot to give up for such a short period of time if he stays healthy. Don’t get me wrong he’s a great receiver or at least he was! Adding him would be awesome but you can’t overpay for him!
Are you nuts. 4 picks!!!
Cleveland gave a 5th round pick and swapped 6th round picks for a 27 year old amari cooper and you think 4 picks for a 31 year old hopkins. Put the pipe down and dont try to become an nfl gm any time soon…
