Aaron Rodgers has finally revealed his decision on playing next season. He intends to play for the New York Jets. It was a decision many saw coming but it is great to finally hear an official word. The deal is not totally done as the Packers and Jets still have to figure out compensation. One of Rodgers’ teammates and close friends David Bakhtiari tweeted out a tearful goodbye.

David Bakhtiari Tweets Out Tearful Goodbye To Aaron Rodgers
There were no words in the tweet. Only a gif of an old man crying and waving goodbye. It is no secret that Rodgers and Bakhtiari are great friends. Their antics during training camp and celebrations after touchdowns show how close they are. But football is a business and the Packers have decided to move in a new direction. That clearly doesn’t make it any less sad for Bakhtiari. He will now be protecting the blindside of another quarterback for the first time in his career.

Bakhtiari Headlines An Impressive Offensive Line
Jordan Love is going to have a great line to play behind. Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins are one of the best tackle-guard combos in the league. Josh Myers is a solid starter looking for a bounceback year. Jon Runyan Jr. has been a solid piece and Zach Tom looks to improve in his second year. Yosh Nijman looks to be coming back as well. Games are won in the trenches and the Packers will have one of the best units going into next season.
It has to be bittersweet not just for David Bakhtiari but a lot of teammates of Rodgers. He was clearly liked by a lot of his teammates and it is sad to see such a generational player move on. The team now will need to get behind Love as they look to take back the NFC North.
