Dave Portnoy had some thoughts about Giannis Antetokounmpo and his answer to a question about whether the season was a failure. While most people are praising Giannis for his answer, Portnoy had some issues with it and he took to Twitter to voice his opinion.
I like Giannis but imagine if Lebron said this. Of course the season was a failure. It was an unmitigated disaster. Not even a debate. Just cause you speak passionately and heart felt doesn't make it right. Undisputed choke and failure for Bucks pic.twitter.com/KHRwWQ2N7o

Dave Portnoy Calls Out Giannis Antetokounmpo
Portnoy contends that this season was a failure. No matter what Giannis says the season ended in an unexpected and frankly embarrassing way.
“I like Giannis but imagine if Lebron said this. Of course the season was a failure. It was an unmitigated disaster. Not even a debate. Just cause you speak passionately and heart felt doesn’t make it right. Undisputed choke and failure for Bucks”
He does have a little bit of a point. The loss to the Miami Heat in five games was a disaster. Most likely there is going to be a huge shakeup in the organization. Whether it is an overhaul of the roster or the coaching staff (or both) something is going to change.

Counterpoint To Portnoy
I’m going to give Portnoy some props here. The season was a failure. Losing in the first round is embarrassing. However, the answer is more than just the answer. It gives a window into Giannis’ thinking and outlook on the world. It shows his humble nature and views that the world has bigger problems than basketball. People can fail much worse than what the Bucks did last night. Great players and teams fail all the time. Already half the league has failed since they did not win a championship. While I get what Portnoy is saying, I think the answer gave us more of an insight into Giannis the person.
Ultimately, Dave Portnoy likes to go against the grain and this is just another situation where he does so. The Bucks will be fine long term. They will reset and be in the mix next season and now with a huge chip on their shoulder.
