Davante Adams turns 29 today and has already accomplished so much. The star wideout is making a case for the best at his position and seems to just be starting his prime. However, the scary part is he has already made some phenomenal plays in his young career. For his birthday let’s countdown his top ten plays…. so far.
10. Game Winner in Cleveland
In a season where there wasn’t much bright side, Davante Adams gave us a memorable moment. In overtime, he caught a screen, broke a tackle, and sprint straight through the endzone into the tunnel.
9. Toe Tap Against Arizona
The game that got Mike McCarthy fired didn’t have many bright spots but in the fourth quarter, Davante Adams made an unbelievable grab. The toe tap snag set up an Aaron Jones touchdown to tie the game up late.
8. House Call in Seattle
Adams started this game off with a bang. The Packers could not afford a loss if they wanted to make the playoffs. Adams started the blowout off with a 66-yard touchdown.
7. Game winner against Jets
The game meant very little to the Packers as they had been eliminated from playoff contention. However, Rodgers and Adams gave us an all-time moment. The Pack came back and in overtime, Davante Adams ran a beautiful route to break open for the game-winning touchdown.
6. Insane Focus vs. Philly
The game that started the run the table stretch came with an outstanding pitch and catch from Rodgers and Adams. With barely any room, Adams hauled in the pinpoint pass while dragging his feet to stay in bounds.
5. Adams and Rodgers Ice the Game
The divisional round of the playoffs and the Packers were faced with a third-down that could ice the game. Davante Adams runs a fade towards the sideline, breaks open, and hauls in a pass that would ultimately send the Packers to the NFC Championship Game.
4. One Hander in Seattle
Something about playing Seattle just clicks with Davante Adams. On Thursday night football Davante Adams made a beautiful one-handed catch while being grabbed by his defender. The pass interference was not called but it didn’t matter as Adams made the 57-yard catch anyway.
3. Divisional Round Touchdown
As a rookie Davante Adams was already showing how good he could be. This game might be remembered as the “Dez dropped it” game, but it was really Adams’ breakout game. He had over 100 yards for just the second time in his career and had a 46 yard touchdown to keep the Packers alive in the playoffs.
2. Magic vs. Jacksonville
In the season opener in 2016 Davante Adams set the tone for his entire season. The first of his twelve touchdowns came on a remarkable grab with Davon House draped all over him. The touchdown gave the Packers the lead going into halftime.
1. Game Winner in Dallas
This play might end up being the one that Adams will be remembered for most when it’s all said and done. The Packers were playing what became an instant classic and Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers gave us a play that is the definition of clutch. The Packers got the ball back from Dallas needing a field goal to force overtime. However, Rodgers got the Packers into the red-zone with under half a minute remaining. Rodgers tried connecting with Adams on a fade to the endzone to win it but wound up empty-handed. So what do they do? They go back to it and this time connect. Adams made a leaping touchdown with twelve seconds left to win the game.
Overall
Adams has had so many great plays that missed the cut. However, it’s crazy to think about how this list will change considering Davante Adams is just getting started. The young wideout has plenty more to give us. However, if you ask him he’ll tell you he’s only worried about one thing and it’s not his highlights. It’s helping the Packers win a championship.
