Davante Adams Talks Reuniting; Sends Fans Into Panic (Report)

Wide receiver Davante Adams has been through a whirlwind of events over the last 15 months or so.  Last off-season the major Davante Adams trade saw #17 depart Green Bay for the Las Vegas Raiders.  Of course, this off-season was headlined by the franchise-altering Aaron Rodgers trade.   Both trades netted the Green Bay Packers a substantial amount of premium draft picks.  Now, Davante Adams is Derek Carr-less and reports are surfacing that he wanted a certain reuniting to happen this off-season.

    According to Mark Nilon:

Easily the most buzzed-about name during the NFL offseason has been superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his “will they, won’t they” trade dilemma with the Green Bay Packers. While the veteran signal-caller was eventually shipped out to the New York Jets, Davante Adams recently admitted to trying to lure his former teammate out to Sin City.

The perennial All-Pro wide receiver revealed to Mirin Fader of The Ringer that during the offseason hoopla surrounding the Aaron Rodgers sweepstakes, he tried his hand in the recruitment department in an effort to bring his former quarterback out to the Las Vegas Raiders.

“I would even go as far as trying to make it happen,” Davante Adams said regarding a hypothetical reunion between him and Aaron Rodgers. “Absence makes the heart grow fonder,” he said. “Having that distance, and time away, kind of made me miss him.”

In his piece, Fader went on to note that both Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers were even seen playing golf together out in Vegas, highlighting the relationship the two managed to forge during their tenure in Green Bay together.

Davante Adams recorded 8,121 yards and 73 receiving touchdowns during their eight-year partnership with Aaron Rodgers.  Rodgers would also win three of his four total league MVPs with #17 on the same field.  It is easy to see why Adams would want to team up with #12 again, especially given the QB situation in Vegas right now.  When this new surfaced, many fans took to social media to react:

    Welcome back Tae 🥰

Should have stayed with AR rather than trust anything the Raiders do. Hope my man can get out and to a team that will excel with his skill set.

This clowns nasty concussions are sadly and obviously starting to catch up on him. Just yesterday, “a QB didn’t make him, he don’t need a QB to be great”. Now today, one day later, he misses Rodgers and wanted to reunite in Vegas? Messed up in the head and it’s a damn shame.
