Eight players will compete in this year’s 3-Point Contest at the All-Star Weekend and for Darius Garland, the biggest threat is the one who won the last two – Damian Lillard.

The Cleveland Cavaliers star is participating in the contest along side the Bucks star. The other participants are Buddy Hield of the hosts Golden State Warriors, Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks, first-time All-Star Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons, Tyler Herro of Miami Heat, Cameron Johnson of the Brooklyn Nets, and Norman Powell of the Los Angeles Clippers.
All the names above can go on a hot streak in a regular NBA game but when it comes to three-point shoot out, Garland finds Lillard the most dangerous, especially because of a number of reasons.
“I know Dame is gonna come in and try to represent his hometown. I know he’s gonna go for a three-peat,” Garland said during a guesting in the Fan Duel show Run It Back.

“I know Dame’s gonna come hard for it.”
Lillard rested in their last game before the All-Star break but he did show off in their last two, scoring an average of 39.5. points.
Both Garland and Lillard will also participate in the All-Star Game on Sunday.
Darius Garland’s admiration of Damian Lillard
Garland holds Lillard in high regard despite his team trashing the Bucks in their most recent encounters.
In an interview a few months ago, Garland spoke in great length how he savored their point guard duel.

“I grew up watching Dame and I still watch his film to this day so it’s just super cool just having a little duel a couple of minutes of one on one basketball in high intensity game like,” he told reporters.
“So it is super fun battling against them. He made tough shots against me. I had tip my hat off, too. Happy I could come back, tried to some things I watched from him and tried to implement t in my game so it’s super cool.
