The next two weeks will be strenuous for the Milwaukee Bucks as they are set to play 13 games in 22 days. How can they navigate such tough schedule? First thing is having a tough mental state according to Damian Lillard.
Lillard and company will travel all around America in that period as they are schedule to play nine road games from those 13. Four of them are back-to-back.
There’s the physical challenge but for Dame, they should start with having the right mindset to make the most out of that stretch.
“We just gotta be there mentally,” Lillard told The Athletic.
“We gotta be engaged. We gotta be disciplined and we gotta be together. I think our preparation and our mentality lately — we see the type of success that it has given us — and we gotta take that on the road.”
The first two games will be a back-to-back. They will first pay New Orleans Pelicans a visit and then go back home to host the Miami Heat.
Lillard, along with Giannis Antetokounmpo, will probably not have a long break when they participate in the All-Star Game.
Damian Lillard said the Bucks are figuring things out
The Bucks are on a four-game winning streak and they won all those games by double digits.
The games after the All-Star break could determine where NBA teams currently stand and Lillard believes the 13-game stretch is the perfect time for them to hone their mindset going forward.
I think if our mind is right and we able to do a lot of the things that we’re doing, we’ll find ourselves in a good spot to win a game anywhere against any team. So I think in this closing stretch, we got to have that more than anything else because it’s going to come down to where our mind is.
What does he think of his team when it comes to this area of their game? He said they are now “trending in that direction.”
