Newly acquired starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel will make his Milwaukee Brewers debut on Wednesday afternoon against the Texas Rangers. The first pitch scheduled for this baseball game will be at 1:10 p.m. CT.
Keuchel has yet to pitch in the big leagues this season. He last pitched for the Minnesota Twins in 2023. This year, he was with the Seattle Mariners organization in Triple-A and Milwaukee acquired him for cash considerations.
In 13 games started in the Triple-A level this season, he had a 7-4 record with a 3.93 ERA. In 71.0 innings pitched, he struck out 46 batters. The Milwaukee Brewers are hoping that at 36 years old, he can help them down the stretch. Dallas Keuchel is a former Cy Young Award winner.
Milwaukee Brewers Fans React To Dallas Keuchel Starting Against the Texas Rangers On Wednesday Afternoon
Interestingly, Keuchel is starting against the Rangers on Wednesday afternoon. The Brewers will have an off day on Thursday. He is used to pitching against Texas when he pitched for the Houston Astros. Here is what some of the fanbase had to say about Keuchel making his debut with the Brewers:
Keuchel no hitter gonna go crazy

So how are you fading the biggest fade since Jake Arrieta @MLBNetwork as ya know #TeamSharpie can’t let Dallas Keuchel day go now that I’ve crossed over to the Dark Side #Undertaker https://t.co/OBxL0AXOir

Before Keuchel was announced as the starting pitcher for the Brewers on Wednesday afternoon, manager Pat Murphy did not list a starter for Wednesday’s game against the Texas Rangers beforehand.
It will be very interesting to see how many innings he will pitch in his Milwaukee Brewers debut. It would not be a surprise to see him on a pitch count.
Starting pitching has been one of the weaknesses this season for the Brewers. If he can regain his old form, it would be a very good thing. It was not a bad thing for Keuchel to be working on his craft in the minor leagues before being acquired in a trade just a couple of days ago.
